Court Orders Jennifer Hudson to Share Custody of Son for Thanksgiving

Last week, news broke that American Idol winner Jennifer Hudson split from her fiancé David Otunga after 10 years. Hudson filed a restraining order against the former lawyer-turned-reality-star in an effort to protect herself and her son, but a court has now ordered the singer to hand him over to his father for Thanksgiving. 

The former couple faced off in court yesterday as Otunga “made his case to spend the holiday with 8-year-old David Jr.,” reports TMZ. The final verdict was in David’s favor as the judge ordered Hudson to allow David Jr. to spend Thanksgiving with his father.

David Jr. will be with his dad from 3:00 pm Thanksgiving day until 7:00 pm the following day.

According to reports, the former WWE star wants the judge to vacate the order of protection and award him temporary custody of their son as he works to prove he’s the child’s primary caregiver. 

Hudson and Otunga are set to return to court on Monday.
