Aretha Franklin remains under hospice care in her Detroit home, and celebrities are sending the Queen of Soul their love. A multitude of friends and colleagues have turned to social media to support the queen, but fellow music legend Stevie Wonder took things a step further and personally visited his longtime friend.
An anonymous source told People that Franklin has been sick for “a long time” and that her death is “imminent.” Those closest to the singer are taking her health condition very seriously.
The 76-year old singer was also visited by Rev. Jesse Jackson and her ex-husband, actor Glynn Turman (The Wire, House of Lies).
Franklin has had health problems for years, which forced her to cancel a number shows last year. She announced that she was done with live performances due to doctor’s orders, and hit the stage for the last time last November at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation fundraiser.
Beyonce and Jay-Z dedicated their Detroit concert to Franklin Monday Night.
