A suspect has been identified in the shooting of comedian Reggie Carroll.
We recently reported that Carroll, 52, was fatally shot in Mississippi during a tour stop with Katt Williams. After receiving reports about the shooting, police arrived at the scene and witnessed Carroll suffering from his gunshot wounds. Although they attempted to revive him, Carroll was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Reports say that the suspect, Tranell Marquise Williams, 38, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Carroll’s death. Billy Sorrells, a fellow comedian, explained why he believes that Katt Williams was involved in the fatal shooting of Carroll and said that the property where the incident took place belongs to Williams.
In a video he shared on Instagram, Sorrells said Williams needs to “tell the truth” about the shooting that took Carroll’s life. “We not gonna act like, Katt … You ain’t know who Reggie Carroll was,” Sorrells said in the video. “Katt Williams, you’re the truth teller! You the master of being able to tell everybody else this shit. You, God of War, you ready for anything, right? You the guy! You said my team versus whoever else. Well… I know you love Reggie; we all did. Reggie was a solid n***a, he didn’t pick sides. So, Katt Williams, tell me why Reggie Carroll died outside your house? Tell us what happened to Reggie Carroll, Katt.”
Sorrells also suggested that the suspect and Williams are related or have worked closely together before. “Why y’all left Reggie on the motherfucking curb by your crib, n***a?” he said. “Tell us why. Tell us why Reggie Carroll died at your house, n***a. … Why you quiet? We ain’t get a, ‘Hey man, RIP.’ You said it’s the year of truth, well tell the truth, n***a.”
It is unclear whether Williams and Sorrells are related or even know each other, and the comedian has not responded to the claims.
