It looks like T.I. won’t be doing a Verzuz anytime soon.
Appearing on the “Joe Budden Podcast,” T.I. said he won’t do a Verzuz because it’s “poor people activity.”
“I don’t want to indulge in that side of life no more,” Tip said. “And I ain’t interested, bruh. Ain’t no money over there, bruh. That sh*t poor people activity. I’m 45, the f**k I’m doing going back and forth with a n*gga, for what? To celebrate music? I can do that talking about me!”
Budden and his co-hosts responded that a Verzuz is a celebration of the artists’ catalogs. In response, T.I. said he would reconsider if the money made sense.
In February, T.I. told Gillie Da Kid and Wallo on “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” that he and 50 Cent discussed doing a Verzuz.
“It was really about celebrating each other’s catalog. Me and this n-gga talked about this,” T.I. said in February. “I just ain’t call him out of the blue. This ain’t come out of nowhere. We were moving around in Los Angeles, selling some shows together.”
T.I IS RELEASING HIS LAST ALBUM ‘KILL THE KING’
Along with his views on Verzuz, T.I. is set to release his twelfth and final studio album, Kill the King. The LP is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026, through Grand Hustle and EMPIRE. Serving as his first full-length project since 2020’s The L.I.B.R.A., the highly anticipated album represents a conscious effort by the Atlanta icon to put down his self-proclaimed “King of the South” crown and lay his musical ego to rest.
The project’s rollout was anchored by the Pharrell Williams-produced lead single “LET ‘EM KNOW,” which earned an RIAA gold certification and topped the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts. He alos released “TRAUMA BOND” and “MR. HIM.”
The album features collaborations with Anderson .Paak, Usher, Summer Walker, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and a massive trap reunion with 2 Chainz and Jeezy.
Following the release, the Grand Hustle mogul is set to embark on his multi-city “King Succession Tour” alongside his sons, Domani and King Harris, as he officially transitions away from the studio to focus on comedy, executive production, and his family.
