Tamera Mowry-Housley revealed how difficult it was living with her twin sister Tia.
Appearing on the Barely Famous podcast, Mowry-Housley shared that living with Tia nearly fractured their relationship.
“For years, my sister and I lived together,” she said. “One of the hardest transitions of my life, being a twin, was that move.”
“When we moved, I remember having lots of arguments,” she continued. “I remember asking Tia, ‘Who the hell are you? Who is this?’ Then she was like, ‘Well, who are you?’ Because we’re different.”
Mowry-Housley shared they were “evolving into these different human beings.”
“We were so used to being the same,” she said. “Then she would force me to be like her, and then I’d force her to be like me. And it was horrible. So then, I remember us having this epiphany, we’re different. You’re the yin to my yang. We actually balance each other out.”
THE SISTERS REKINDLED THEIR BOND
During an episode of Sherri in October, Mowry-Housley spoke about spending time with Tia and how hard it’s been to carve out time with busy schedules. The time they spent together helped to rekindle their bond.
“We had to have some amazing Italian food. We went, of course, shopping, but most importantly, we just bonded,” she said.
“We have our own families, but it was good for our souls,” said the mother of two. “And I can’t wait to see her again. We’re going to see each other for Thanksgiving. We’re going to go to Disneyland together.”
Back in July, Tamera and Tia celebrated their 47th birthday and took to Instagram to share their journey.
“Happy 47th birthday to my twin, Tia! It’s crazy to think we’ve been doing life together for 47 years,” Tamera wrote in her post. “From the silly moments to the tough ones, you’ve always had this determination to keep going and growing. No matter what life throws your way. I love you more than words can say. Here’s to us, to sisterhood, and spending our birthday today! Together.”
