Tank and The Bangas Recruit Rapsody & Terrace Martin For Blue Note Residency

The residency takes place November 16-November 19

Grammy-nominated R&B group, Tank and the Bangas, are bringing their eclectic blend of soulful funk and jazz to the Blue Note New York.

There are two shows a night set for November 16, 17, 18, and 19 from 8pm-10:30pm.

The band unveiled the special guests that will be joining their residency. For the first two nights three-time GRAMMY-nominated artist and producer, Terrace Martin will join the band as well as skilled jazz vocalist, Chantae Cann.

Then on November 18th & 19th, Grammy-nominated emcee Rapsody will join Tank and The Bangas for two nights along with Amber Navran, lead singer of Moonchild.

Founding members vocalist Tank Ball, bassist Norman Spence, and drummer Joshua Johnson met at an open mic night in New Orleans in 2011. They then went on to release their first album two years later, and eventually won NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest.

Today, they are a two-time Grammy Award-nominated band, with three studio albums, Thinktank (2013), Green Balloon (2019), and Red Balloon (2022) . Their sounds is considered to be a blend of genres: rock, folk, gospel, R&B, and jazz.
