Taraji P. Henson breaks her silence on mistakenly mixing up Keith Lee and Jordan Howlett at the BET Awards during one of her segments.
We reported that Henson was giving flowers to people in the audience to celebrate them when she mistakenly was speaking to Howell, who she thought was the social media food critic. Once Howell pointed to Lee, the actress apologized for the mix-up.
Lee accepted the flower but later posted a video on his social media of him dropping the rose on the floor with the caption, “Our name will be known in every room it’s supposed to be, with no confusion. God is amazing.” He followed up with, “I am not upset at Taraji P. Henson by any stretch of the imagination. And not only that, in my opinion, she smoked it last night.”
However, Henson would respond and say, “Life is really too short for this behavior. He wasn’t in his seat. They give celebrity assigned seats! I rehearsed all damn day to go hit my mark and that young man wasn’t in his seat so HE MISSED HIS MOMENT! His ego is hurt. He will be fine. I cleaned it up at the end of the show. No love lost here. #GodBless.”
