It was initially reported that Jussie Smollett’s character was written off the hit show Empire. Well, Taraji P. Henson was a guest on an episode of The View and she cleared up any speculations.
Taraji, who stars as Smollett’s mother on the show let fans know that his character, Jamal, will be returning. She also let fans know that Jussie was doing “well” since the whole incident.
“I talk to Jussie all the time. And he’s doing well.” She continued, “We’re all doing well. The show is doing well. We’re on hiatus right now. The writers are trying to figure out what the next season is going to look like, what our storyline is going to be. They’re trying to drum up some really good stuff for you guys. So that’s where we are right now.”
When asked if Smollett would be returning to the show, she said, “Yes. I haven’t heard anything else. I haven’t heard anything.”
