Multihyphenate entertainer Tatyana Ali is reminding fans that she is more than an actress.
Tatyana Ali is back with new music! On Dec 8, the singer announced her new holiday effort, “All I Have,” is in the works. The seven track EP will be an untraditional Christmas project as it interweaves Ali’s caribbean lineage and live instrumentation. The album arrives twenty-five years after the release of her debut, Kiss the Sky and almost ten years after, Hello.
“Never forget whose you are. This season is a time for us to remember. When the road gets rough, His plan is greater than anything we can make up. Find encouragement in the truth. He is always with us,” she captioned on her announcement post.
After being asked continuously by fans to get back into music, she teased fans with “Flow.”
“You all have encouraged me so much with your posts and messages over the years to get back to the music; so I have an offering on the way just for you,” she said.
Ali has long dabbled in both the film and recording spaces. She got her start on Sesame Place, at six-years-old, singing alongside Herbie Hancock and appearing on Star Search. Her breakout roles was on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where her vocal talent was sprinkled throughout the seasons.
In 1998, she released certified gold LP Kiss the Sky which included her notable singles, “Daydreamin’” and the Will Smith-featured “Boy You Knock Me Out.” Sixteen years later, she released Hello, a light project with no features or big hit producers.
Though she had a successful music stint, Ali had focused on her acting career and motherhood.
A release date for the album has not been shared.
