The inaugural Orlando Jazz Festival is set to be held at the Mennello Museum of American Art, Orlando, FL. Presented by the Orlando Jazz Collective, the festival is a showcase of world-class contemporary jazz in an intimate outdoor setting, connecting artists and audiences through culture, creativity, and community.
The festival aims to highlight “musicians who are actively shaping the future of the genre, with a special focus on innovation, cultural storytelling, and deep musical expression.
Headlining the festival is acclaimed producer and muscian Terrace Martin and the incomparable Chief Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott). Other performers include saxophonist Ryan Devlin and Gerald Law II &The Clutch, trumpeter Theo Croker, the ensemble Butcher Brown, saxophonist Braxton Cook, and flutist and vocalist Elena Pinderhughes.
Jerry Jasmin, President of the Orlando Jazz Collective, expressed his excitement about the festival in a statement.
“We’ve spent years building jazz experiences in Orlando, and this festival feels like the natural next step,” said Jasmin. “It brings nationally recognized artists together with local voices in a way that feels intentional, accessible, and true to the community, celebrating the culture, creativity, and spirit that make Orlando’s jazz scene so unique.”
MARTIN IS ONE OF THE MOST ACCLAIMED PRODUCERS IN MUSIC
A protégé of Snoop Dogg. Martin became the central architect of the lush, jazz-fused sound of Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning masterpiece, To Pimp a Butterfly. He’s produced Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, CharlieWilson, Herbie Hancock, SZA, and Travis Scott. Also, Martin is a member of the jazz-fusion supergroup Dinner Party alongside Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, and 9th Wonder. In total, he has earned 8 Grammy nominations.
ADJUAH IS REDEFINING THE GENRE
Adjuah, a two-time Edison Award winner, is known for redefining contemporary jazz through collaborations with Erykah Badu and Esperanza Spalding. A visionary trumpeter, composer, and “sonic architect” whose accomplishments bridge the gap between ancestral tradition and futuristic innovation. He is a six-time Grammy nominee.
