“The crack is covered in diamonds. It’s expensive!” Taylor told red carpet host Justin Sylvester, on E!’s Live from the Red Carpet.

While thanking a number of people who helped her achieve the monumental feat, the “Rose In Harlem” songstress referenced Whitney Houston’s Lifetime Achievement Award speech at the 2001 BET Awards.

“Pam, Mike, Warner Brothers, Sarah, Casandra, Natina, Lee, WME,” she said, matching Houston’s cadence from her BET speech. “This whole journey would not exist without you and your support. I love you and thank you so much.”

The mother of 2 assured to be in mom mode as she began her speech when speaking to her daughters, Rue Rose, 4, and Iman “Junie” Tayla, 10.

“My babies! My babies are upstairs watching, she began. “Y’all better be off them damn phones and watching me right now.”

In her acceptance speech, Taylor gave encouraging words to Black and Brown girls.

“To my brown sisters and little brown girls watching tonight: our softness is not a liability, our depth is not too much, our light does not need permission to shine. We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter and our dreams deserve space.”

Congratulations to Teyana Taylor!
