Teyana Taylor received a bouquet from Beyoncé to celebrate her Golden Globe win.
“Extra” spoke with Taylor, who attended the NYC premiere of “The Rip,” about her connection to Beyoncé.
“It was just so sweet. Oh, my God. I just love her, you know? She’s been supporting me since I was 16 years old… It’s always been very, very consistent. I also love that she’s watching me grow and you know, watching me blossom,” Taylor said. “ I love making her proud. And I love that she don’t miss a chance to remind me of how proud she is of me. That means the world to me.”
Taylor also talked about sharing the special moment with her daughters.
She said, “They came down from the suite, and I ran straight out and straight into their arms… It was amazing. You see, even when I got onstage, I was like, ‘My babies.’ Like, I knew they were watching, and I was just so happy.”
Taylor wasn’t even expecting to take home the trophy.
“I almost didn’t even write a speech,” Taylor added.
Taylor mentioned that she wanted her speech to have an “impact” and not just to say “thank you.”
Teyana is also gracing the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. Although she shot the Lady Liberty cover several months ago, she still can’t believe that it took place.
“I just was stopping every few minutes and like, ‘I’m doing a cover of Vanity Fair,” Taylor recalled.
Taylor said she’s “so excited” that the issue’s out, adding, “The spread to me is flawless.”
On Sunday (Jan 11), Taylor won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for playing Perfidia Beverly Hills in One Battle After Another.
Taylor took to Instagram to share her gratitude.
“Thank you @goldenglobes for seeing me 🥹 not just in this performance, but in the journey. I’ve been at this for 20 years, so this award doesn’t only represent this role,” she wrote/ “it represents every season. Every sacrifice, every yes, every no, and all the love and life I’ve poured into my work. And into others along the way.”
