Quinton Aaron, best known for portraying Michael Oher in The Blind Side, is celebrating a major milestone in his health journey. On Oct. 12, the 41-year-old actor revealed he had dropped 200 pounds, posting side-by-side photos of his transformation and thanking fans for their support.
In his Instagram post, Aaron wrote, “I am overwhelmed and blessed to announce that I have reached another cool milestone in my life.” He added, “From my heaviest weight of 575 lbs until this morning 375 lbs I’m down 200 lbs.”
He also noted, “I have 55 more pounds to go to reach my overall goal of 320 lbs. I GOT THIS!!!”
A Transformation Fueled by Reflection and Change
Aaron said his journey began after facing weight gain during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over time, he leaned into lifestyle shifts, including changes in diet, movement, and mindset.
He did not shy away from discussing the emotional side of his relationship with food. On the Recovery Vow podcast, he confessed, “Food was my drug. I was eating when I wasn’t even hungry.” He described sitting in his car buying food, eating it, and crying, unsure of why he felt that way.
“It’s been such a journey,” Aaron reflected in another Instagram caption. “I am so proud of myself for sticking to it and getting this weight off.”
He acknowledged setbacks and plateaus along the way, but emphasized consistency and self-compassion over perfection.
While Aaron has accomplished much, he says he is not finished. His target remains 320 pounds — about 55 more pounds to lose.
He is also renewing his commitment to work beyond himself. Through The Quinton Aaron Foundation, which he founded in 2012, he continues to advocate against bullying and to support childhood health awareness.
Aaron’s announcement has drawn praise and inspiration across social media, where followers have applauded his honesty and resilience. In responding to congratulatory messages, he has humbled the moment. “I GOT THIS!!!” he wrote — an affirmation not just of weight lost, but of strength found.
