In celebration of 50th year of the bronx-born genre, the Hip-Hop Museum is going on tour to several states starting October 14, 2023.
The Museum will hit the road “to tell the story of the pioneers who created and cultivated a sound that sent waves around the world,” according to their website.
The tour is an early showcase of the upcoming launch of The Museum, which is slated to open in New York City’s Bronx Terminal Market in 2025.
The exhibit will start in the birthplace of hip-hop, New York City, on Oct. 14 before heading to a different state each week including Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles and Charlotte. The last city will be Miami, from Dec. 5-9. Admission is free for visitors.
The tour is in partnership with The Hip Hop Museum and Mass Appeal. CÎROC Ultra-Premium Vodka serves as the sole sponsor. The exhibit is curated by Pete Nice (formerly of 3rd Bass) and Paradise Gray (of X Clan fame).

By taking the museum’s exhibition on tour, we’re shining a light on the culture’s regional creative influences, its creators, and the communities nationwide that helped give rise to the genre,” said Rocky Buccano, Executive Director of the Universal Hip Hop Museum, in a press release.
The touring exhibit will feature Hip Hop artifacts and will shine a light on the cultural, social, and economic accomplishments of the genre’s community. The tour is also Mass Appeal’s latest Hip-Hop 50 initiative, following Hip Hop 50 Live – A Star Studded Concert, which was held in August at Yankee Stadium. Performers included Ice Cube, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Run-DMC, Eve, Lil Wayne, Lil’ Kim, and more.
