The man who used to cook for the Obamas was found dead near their home on Martha’s Vineyard.

According to reports, Tafari Campbell’s body was found on Monday by divers after he went missing on Sunday night in the water near the Obama’s home. Campbell died by drowning according to the Massachusetts police.

The Obamas released a statement remembering Tafari. They recall him being “creative and passionate about food, and its ability to bring people together.” They also said that he was a “warm, fun, extraordinarily kind person who made all of our lives a little brighter.”

Reports also state that the police received a call about a missing paddleboarder and began to search the waters for him. He was found 100 feet from shore and 8 feet below the surface. There is an active investigation into Campbell’s death.

Tafari Campbell is survived by his wife Sherise, and their twin boys Savin and Zavier. We will continue to keep his family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
