The Two Men Convicted For The Murder Of Malcolm X To Be Exonerated

Muhammad A. Aziz and Khalil Islam, two of the three men convicted of killing Malcolm X in 1965 are expected to be exonerated. 

The news was announced earlier today by Manhattan district attorney Cy Vance and the lawyers representing the men. This news comes after a 22-month investigation was conducted by the DA’s office. 

Malcolm X was assassinated in Harlem’s Audubon Ballroom on Feb. 21, 1965. Aziz, 83 was released from prison in 1985, and Islam was released in 1987 but passed away in 2009.
