Tina Knowles Shares Beyoncé’s Top Parenting Rule

Tina Knowles has revealed what Beyoncé’s number parenting rule is.

During a conversation with E! News at Billboard’s Women in Music Awards on Saturday, March 29, she shared how Beyoncé prioritizes being a mother.

“They are always her first priority,” she said, adding, “no matter what else is going on.”

Tina, who’s also the mother of Solange, also shared how being a mother is a transformative experience.

“Mothers take on the role of being behind the scenes and doing what they can to support,” she said. “It’s nice to be recognized for that.” 

“It never ends, which is the best part,” she continued. “I’m still a mom. I’m 71 years old, and my kids are grown, but they still call me first and it’s the best feeling in the world.”

When asked what was one of the lessons she learned raising Beyoncé and Solange, Knowles said recognizing the uniqueness in every child is critical to their growth and development.

“If you have more than one kid, acknowledge the differences and celebrate them,” she shared. “When you have more than one kid, sometimes people lump them in, but you have to look at them individually.”

While Knowles had plent of wisdom that she has gained in her 71 years of life, she admitted on the Jennifer Hudson Show that her granddaughter doesn’t ask her her for advice.  Blue Ivy seeks out her mother for advice.

“Her and her mother are really tight and so they don’t need me to give much advice,” Knowles told Hudson.”They tell me to mind my business.”
