Tina Turner To Be Honored With A Statue In Her Hometown

As the world is still mourning the death of Tina Turner, it has been announced that the late legend will be honored in her hometown with a statue. 

Bill Rawls Jr., mayor of Brownsville, TN, announced that the statue of Turner will be placed in Brownsville Heritage Park, near the singer’s former high school. 

“When Tina stepped on stage, she owned it. We want this statue to represent that passion. Tina was an inspiration to the entire world … She showed the people of Brownsville no matter where you start, you own your story about where you end up,” Mayor Rawls said. 

Tina Turner passed away on May 24, 2023 in her home in Switzerland. According to her rep, she passed away from natural causes. Many of Turner’s friends and fans shared their love for “Queen of Rock and Roll.”

Oprah Winfrey also shared how she found out about the passing of her longtime friend and stated the news of Turner’s death immediately brought her to tears.
