Tisha Campbell gives an update about her health and her sarcoidosis diagnosis.

While having a conversation with host Shanti Das of “The Mibo Show,” Campbell revealed that she has been in remission from the inflammatory disease for a little while.

“I have been in remission for four years now,” she explained. “They can’t find it at the base of my brain at all.” In 2011, the “Martin” star revealed that she had been dealing with it for a decade.

The American Lung Association defines the disease as “Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease in which the immune system overreacts, causing groups of cells to form clusters of inflamed tissue called “granulomas” in one or more organs of the body.”  They also report that Black women are three times more likely to be diagnosed with sarcoidosis than White women.”

Campbell revealed that because of her diagnosis her anxiety was very high and that every time she got a cold she would go to the hospital.

“I haven’t gotten sick, not one time. And I was so scared to get Covid because I thought, ‘If I get Covid, I’m gonna die,’” she added.”…Just every sniffle, allergies… It would build up and I would get sick. But I have not been sick ever since I got a divorce.”

Tisha Campbell was married to Duane Martin for 22 years, from 1996 to 2018. Their divorce was finalized in 2020. “I’m just telling y’all the freaking truth, stress is a killer,” she said. “Yeah, it is. And it’s connected to your body.”

“I am here to say that I am so proud of where I am in my mental health and my physical health now,” she shared. “Because I understood that they are a combination. Whether you have any type of disorder, it’s important to understand you got to do everything that’s right.”
