Tito Jackson, legendary singer and guitarist for the Jackson 5, was laid to rest on Monday in a private ceremony at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. This Southern California cemetery is a significant site for the Jackson family, as it also serves as the resting place for Tito’s father, Joe Jackson, and his brother, Michael Jackson.

The burial took place seven weeks after Tito’s passing on September 15, 2024, at the age of 70. His death was announced by his sons, who posted on Instagram, “It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us.” They added, “Please remember to do what our father always preached, and that is ‘Love One Another.’ We love you, Pops.”

Tito Jackson’s Life and Legacy

Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson, Tito was the third child of Joe and Katherine Jackson. He achieved fame as a founding member of the Jackson 5, playing a crucial role in the band that became a global sensation in the 1970s. His death marked the second loss among the Jackson siblings, following Michael Jackson’s passing at 50 in 2009.

Tito’s funeral was attended by close family, including siblings Marlon and La Toya Jackson, as well as Michael’s children, Paris and Bigi Jackson. Other attendees included Jaafar Jackson, who will portray Michael in an upcoming biopic, and family friend Kimora Lee Simmons.

Police reports indicate that Tito experienced a medical emergency near the American Heritage Plaza Mall in Gallup, New Mexico, before being transported to a nearby hospital. Although some speculate he may have suffered a heart attack, the official cause of death has not been confirmed.

Steve Manning, a longtime Jackson family friend and former family manager, shared his sorrow, stating, “Tito was a kind soul, dedicated to his family and his craft.” Manning added that the Jacksons remain “one of the most enduring musical families, and Tito’s contributions will not be forgotten.”

Tito Jackson is survived by his children and siblings, as well as his mother, Katherine Jackson, who is now 94. As the Jackson family grieves, fans around the world are reminded of Tito’s legacy and the music that continues to inspire generations.
