The soundclash of the two R&B princesses has already been postponed twice.
Their first meet-up was scheduled to happen in December, but then Ashanti became stricken with COVID-19 and the date was changed to a few weeks later.
In a statement to her fans, the “Rain On Me” singer wrote, “Hey y’all I can’t believe I’m saying this but I tested positive for COVID-19. I’m ok and not in any pain.” Ashanti went on to explain that she was still “down” to sing, but things didn’t end up working out that way. See her full statement below.
When that day came, the Verzuz team decided to delay the highly-anticipated event, once again, to make sure that all pandemic precautions were properly set in place.
