High-profile Texas attorney Tony Buzbee has filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation, its legal team, and affiliates, accusing them of misconduct. The lawsuit alleges that Roc Nation, owned by rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z, attempted to manipulate current and former clients of Buzbee’s firm into filing false claims against him.

Buzbee’s filing claims operatives working for Roc Nation posed as Texas state officials and approached his former client Gerardo Garcia. The operatives allegedly tried to coerce Garcia into filing a lawsuit against Buzbee, offering financial incentives. Garcia, who recorded parts of the encounter, said the individuals implied the lawsuit could “get him a lot of money.”

“I have never encountered such egregious behavior in my career,” Buzbee said in a statement. “This was a blatant attempt to undermine my clients and obstruct justice.”

The lawsuit intensifies an ongoing legal battle between Buzbee and Jay-Z. In November, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, sued Buzbee for alleged extortion, accusing the attorney of demanding a settlement to avoid a public lawsuit involving sexual assault allegations. Jay-Z has adamantly denied the claims, describing them as “idiotic” and accusing Buzbee of fabricating allegations for financial gain.

“What [Buzbee] calculated was that these allegations and public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No, sir,” Jay-Z stated. “It had the opposite effect. It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are.”

In his latest lawsuit, Buzbee alleges that the operatives involved work for attorneys closely tied to Roc Nation, including Marcy Croft, a member of Team Roc, the company’s philanthropic arm. He claims their actions constitute barratry, or soliciting clients to pursue baseless lawsuits.

A spokesperson for Roc Nation dismissed Buzbee’s claims, calling the lawsuit a “sham” and “a pathetic attempt to distract and deflect attention.”

Buzbee, who represents multiple plaintiffs in sexual misconduct cases against high-profile figures like Sean “Diddy” Combs, remains undeterred. “This fight isn’t just about my firm,” he said. “It’s about ensuring the integrity of the legal process.”

As the lawsuits pile up, the feud between Buzbee and Roc Nation shows no signs of slowing.
