Travis Scott Reveals What Award He Wants To Win

Travis Scott is not concerned about whether he wins a Grammy award.

In a recent interview with Variety, Scott shared why winning awards is not his highest priority.

“I still need a Grammy, but I would love to take home an Oscar,” he said. “That’d be cool.”

Although he’s been nominated 10 times, he has yet to win. Getting the coveted award is not his motivation.

“It’s not why I do what I do,” said Scott of the award. “I like to set goals, and I just want to achieve them. I noticed the people that get them always have that like, ‘It doesn’t matter’ [attitude]. To me, the award represents something, and to achieve that would be amazing.”

For his next project, Scott is starring in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. He shared it was to be surrounded by  Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron.

“All those actors were there, and I’m standing on the table,” he says. “And it wasn’t like Travis rager shit, or we’re kicking it at a function. No, this was some serious shit. There’s a camera right here in my face. Nolan’s right there. And they’re all actors — so everyone’s in their zone, locked in.”

SCOTT READ ‘THE ODYSSEY’ AS A KID

Scott also shared The Odyssey” when he was a kid growing up around Houston. Bernice Webster, his paternal grandmother, was an English professor who assigned it to him one summer.

“That summer, she made me do an essay on the book, and I did some CliffsNotes bullshit,” he says, laughing. “I got a whoopin’ because I lied about reading it.”

His grandma now takes pride in choosing that book for him to read.

“She’s like, ‘See? That’s why I made you read that book; now you’re in this movie,’” Scott says, beaming. “It’s actually crazy.”

The Odyssey is currently playing in theaters.
