Tristian Thompson revealed that he never wanted to tell Khloé Kardashian that he cheated on her while she was pregnant.
During a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, Thompson spoke about the aftermath of his public breakup with Kardashian.
“When you date someone who’s in the camera and high profile, you have to understand you’re under a magnifying glass. You’ve got to really move a certain way,” Thompson said. “Obviously, me being 25, being so young and just winning a championship, you know, you’re young, and you’re naive, and you’re just enjoying life.”
Thompson said that it took some time and relearning for him to evolve as a man. He admitted that he felt overwhelmed by all of his responsibilities as a father and in a committed relationship.
“That’s an area that I had to grow and evolve and mature,” he continued. “‘Cause you know, when you’re young, you think we know it all, right? So, when bad things are coming, or a big negative situation or precedent comes, I didn’t know how to handle it, right? So, for me, it was more just like, take it for what it is, and deal with the punches after.
Because it’s kind of, like, almost the athlete mentality. With injuries, we’re going to figure it out, we’re going to rehab,” Thompson continued. “And that doesn’t work when you’re dealing with human beings and feelings.”
While Thompson called the incident a learning experience, he was positive someone had ratted him out for cheating.
“Some for sure dimed me [out], ‘cause it was 5:00 a.m. in the morning when all that stuff happened,” he added. “But yeah, people talk. Social media is a tough thing. … You know, the problem for us NBA players, we think when we put a hoodie on, we think we’ve got an invisible cloak. We be forgetting that we’re still tall.”
