Tyler Perry is bringing back his iconic character Madea for another round of comedy and heart. The upcoming film, Madea’s Destination Wedding, now has an official release date. The movie is set to hit Netflix on February 14, 2025—just in time for Valentine’s Day.

In a statement, Perry said, “Madea is back, and she’s crashing a destination wedding. I promise, this is one trip you don’t want to miss.” Known for mixing sharp humor with real-life issues, Perry aims to continue that tradition in his latest Madea film.

A Family Gathering — With A Twist

Madea’s Destination Wedding will follow the outspoken grandmother as she attends a lavish beachside wedding overseas. But as always, things don’t go smoothly. According to Perry, “The family thinks they’re coming for a calm celebration, but Madea has other plans. Drama follows her like a shadow.”

Returning cast members include Cassi Davis as Aunt Bam and David Mann as Mr. Brown. New faces are expected to join the ensemble, adding fresh energy to the well-known mix of characters.

“I wanted this movie to feel like a vacation gone sideways,” Perry added. “It’s about love, family, and all the ways we mess those things up.”

Fans Celebrate Madea’s Return

The film marks Perry’s 13th installment in the Madea franchise. Many fans were surprised by her comeback after Perry had previously announced her retirement in 2019.

“I thought A Madea Family Funeral was the end,” said longtime fan Gloria Wills. “But I’m thrilled she’s back. We all need some Madea in our lives.”

Netflix, which also released A Madea Homecoming in 2022, is excited to continue the partnership. “Tyler’s films speak to multiple generations,” said a Netflix representative. “We’re proud to be the home of Madea’s next chapter.”

With Perry writing, directing, and starring, the movie promises more laughs, life lessons, and Madea’s signature tough love. As Perry said, “She’s loud, she’s bold, and she’s going to make this wedding unforgettable.”
