Tyra Banks does not have fond memories of starring in Halloween: Resurrection in 2002.
Asked if she remembers making Halloween: Resurrection fondly, Tyra Banks did not hesitate with her answer.
“No,” Banks told Entertainment Weekly. “Not even a little bit. Like, not even a tiny bit.”
Banks said she agreed to join the slasher film because her agent believed it could replicate Halloween H20 star Josh Hartnett’s career success.
I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that.’ What is it going to do for my career? I’m a model, and I need to do things that are kind of different to get this acting career that I want,” Banks recalled. “He was like, ‘No, Josh Hartnett did Halloween, and look what he’s doing now!’”
In the film, Banks played a reality producer filming teens inside Michael Myers’ childhood home in the 2002 slasher. While her character dies in the film, the murder itself was cut, leaving only a shot of her corpse.
“So I was like, yeah, OK, this is going to do it for me,” Banks said. “Not only did it not do anything for me, but they cut the damn death scene.”
Despite the film failing to yield the big-screen acting breakout her team envisioned, Banks’ biggest Hollywood chapter was actually just around the corner. Shifting her sights from feature films to unscripted television, she created America’s Next Top Model in 2003—a move that redefined her career and built a multi-million-dollar media empire far beyond the reach of any horror franchise.
Now, Banks lives in Australia with her longtime partner, Louis Bélanger-Martin.
“So I have this ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream,” Banks shared on Today in 2025. “I’ve been going to Australia a lot because we were making a lot of our ice cream there in this big facility, doing our recipes.”
