Tyrese Gibson has weighed in on Halle Berry’s decision to delay accepting Van Hunt’s marriage proposal.

In a recent social media post, the actor and singer posed the question, “Is the institution of marriage dead?” This comment was in response to Berry revealing that, despite Hunt’s proposal, she hasn’t yet said yes.

Tyrese also mentions, “Halle Berry happens to be my sister and a good friend, and we have been there for each other for years now with conversations and dialogue around divorces and child support and family courts and the traumas that have been inflicted on us because of it!”

As previously reported, Berry explained that their past experiences with marriage have made them cautious, emphasizing that they don’t feel the need to marry to validate their love. However, she hinted that marriage might still be in their future, stating that Hunt is the person she feels she should have married.

“We don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don’t,” Berry stated. “I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married,” she said.

“And I feel like I should, we should get married, but it’s not because we feel like we have to. I think it’s something that we would like to do just because we want that expression.”
