Usher forcefully shut down bizarre internet conspiracies claiming he used a clone or a body double during a concert at MetLife Stadium.
Speculation exploded across platforms like TikTok after concertgoers shared clips questioning his appearance, movement, and features while performing in a hat and sunglasses. Some disgruntled fans even jokingly dubbed the alleged imposter “Unsure” and demanded refunds, convinced that the singer had sent out a lookalike.
Addressing the wild rumors head-on under a viral social media post, Usher laughed off the claims, commenting, “Y’all are funny… clone? They can’t clone this??”
He doubled down on his denial by cheekily pointing out the technological absurdity of the theories, adding, “How y’all come up with this? AI ain’t that advanced.”
To further silence the doubters, he posted several Instagram Stories of his performance showing him shedding his hat, glasses, and shirt mid-show to prove it was undeniably him on stage.
Many concertgoers were not convinced and took to social media to share their “evidence.”
“Usher, you can’t fool New York; that’s not you bro. I want my money back,” one user posted on X. The tweet now has more than 4 million views.
“Usher, why’d you have to play us all like that last night??” a TikTok user wrote. The video showed a clip of the singer at his MetLife show. “That was foulllll,” the same user added in the comments. “Usher really sent out his doppelganger.”
The “U Remind Me” singer made it abundantly clear that no double could replicate his signature talent.
Usher and Chris Brown are currently on the road for their co-headlining “R&B Tour.” Having launched in June, the North American trek runs through December.
