Usher, the Grammy-winning R&B star, is expanding his passion for roller skating with an exciting new venture in Las Vegas. In partnership with Flipper’s World, a global lifestyle brand known for creating immersive skating experiences, Usher is helping bring a roller skating rink to The Venetian Resort. The skating venue will take over Tao Beach Day Club starting in November for a months-long winter residency.
Usher’s New Skating Experience in Vegas
The 47,000 square foot Tao Beach venue will be transformed into a full-service roller skating rink. The rink will cover two pools and feature a 3,250 square foot skating space, where skaters of all ages can enjoy the experience. According to Flipper’s World, the rink will be open Thursday through Sunday, from noon to 9 p.m. The venue will also offer special programming for guests 21 and older.
“We are thrilled to join forces with The Venetian Resort and Tao Group Hospitality,” said Eddie Bromberg, CEO of Flipper’s World to PEOPLE. “This marks our first-ever Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace winter residency, and we can’t wait to bring this concept to life in Las Vegas.”
Usher, who has been an avid roller skater since his teenage years in Atlanta, is no stranger to incorporating skate culture into his performances. He recently showed off his skating skills during his Super Bowl LVIII halftime show. “No matter the city, if there’s a skating rink nearby, I’m there,” Usher said about his love for skating.
A Star-Studded Skating Culture
Flipper’s World, co-founded by model Liberty Ross and Kevin Wall, has quickly grown to become a leader in roller skating culture. The brand’s pop-up events have been known for their celebrity appearances and high-energy atmosphere. Speaking about the inclusive nature of the brand, Flipper’s World President Ariel Elazar Storch added, “Flipper’s is known for creating inclusive spaces where everyone can enjoy roller skating or just join the party.”
In November, Usher is expected to help launch the Las Vegas residency with a star-studded event, continuing his legacy of blending music, skating, and entertainment.
