Vaness Bryant breaks her silence since the passing of her father-in-law, Joe “Jellybean” Bryant.
On her Instagram story, she wrote, “Sending our condolences upon hearing the news of my father-in-law’s passing. We hoped things would’ve been different. Although the times we spent together were few, he was always sweet and nice to be around.
“Kobe loved him very much. Our prayers go out to the family.”
We reported that Joe “Jellybean” Bryant passed away at 69-years-old. He reportedly suffered from a massive stroke. His death comes four years after his son, NBA hall of famer Kobe Bryant, and his granddaughter, Gianna, tragically passed away in a helicopter accident.
In 1975, Jellybean was the first-round draft pick for the Golden State Warriors. He would later go on to play for the Philadelphia 76ers and headed to the NBA Finals in 1977. Bryant went on to play basketball overseas during the early 1980s. He would later go on to coach the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks from 2005-2007 and 2011.
We send our deepest condolences to the Bryant family.
