Savannah “VanVan” McConneaughey continues to impress fans with her musical gifts.
The 7-year-old sensation made her Sesame Street debut this week as a starring artist in a new music video titled “Good Morning Hair Care Routine” alongside Elmo, Gabrielle, and Abby.
In the Dove-sponsored song, the characters teach audiences all about their morning hair care routine. Characters can be seen wearing bonnets, braids, twists and bantu knots in the video. Van Van raps about having patience with her hair and the joy she feels with the end result.
“With hair like mine, you got to understand / I love to take time / To condition and detangle / Move my head left or right / To improve my part angles / And once it’s all done / What I feel inside / Is the type of joy that I just can’t hide”
The song aims to educate viewers on different textures, aligning with Seasme Street’s mission of blending laughter and learning to pre-schoolers.
VanVan’s feature arrives after her collaboration with Heiress, for “That’s My Bestie.”
VanVan became a social media sensation in 2024 with her viral video “Playing Outside Everyday,” which amassed over 5 million views. The then 5-year-old spat adorable lyrics about her daily routing. “My name is VanVan, I like to rap/by 2 o’clock I take a nap,” she says while doing a two-step in the viral clip.
Since then, VanVan’s had a meteoric rise leading to widespread recognition. She’s performed at the BET Awards, appeared on Abbott Elementary, and has been featured on Good Morning America, The Tamron Hall Show, The Jennifer Hudson Show and Essence.
Expanding her reach even further, VanVan ventured into the world of animation, bringing her vibrant energy to life as Vancy in Doggyland, the beloved children’s series created by Snoop Dogg.
She is currently signed to the management company of rap legend MC Lyte.
