Venus Williams has finally settled the lawsuit she faced after a 78-year-old man named Jerome Barson was killed in a car crash involving the tennis star.
According to reports, Williams ran a red light, which caused the crash in June of 2017. However, after an in-depth review of footage that caught the accident on camera, it wasn’t clear who to blame for the vehicular tragedy.
Though Williams endured a lot of back-and-forth in the case, she is now in the clear after a Palm Beach County judge dismissed the case with prejudice.
According to USA Today, a settlement agreement was reached between Williams and the estate of Jerome Barson, but the settlement amount has yet to be disclosed.
Williams hasn’t released a formal statement since the case closed.
