When Viola Davis isn’t busy teaching law students how to get away with murder, she’s walking to the bank – because the checks just keep rolling in.
Amazon Studios announced that it inked a first-look film deal Davis and her husband Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions Company. The “first-look deal” will give Amazon the opportunity to see new content before others in the industry.
Details of the contract have yet to be disclosed, but Amazon is excited to have them on board as they “aggressively move to expand high-quality produced content.”
“Amazon Studios is passionate about building a home for both new and established filmmakers of all backgrounds, who share the same vision in telling incredible and engaging human stories,” says Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios.
Davis and Tennon released a statement about the deal saying, “We share the same vision of creating a vast and rich array of narratives that are inclusive and reflective of our world.”
They also addressed the news on IG to express their elation.
“We’re beyond excited about our new relationship with @AmazonStudios. We share the same vision of creating a vast and rich array of narratives that are inclusive and reflective of our world.”
