Wendy Osefo breaks her silence on former Real Housewives of Potomac co-star Karen Huger’s sentencing.

Huger was sentenced to two years in prison with one year suspended after her March 2024 DUI arrest. After her hearing, she was immediately taken into custody. While at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards, Osefo shared her reaction to Huger’s sentencing.

“My jaw dropped,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it. At the end of the day, we may have our differences, but I always wish her well, and I’m just keeping her in prayer, 100%.” She went on to speak about continuing RHOP without Karen Huger even though she’s been on the show since day 1.

“With this group, we have found a way to navigate with her presence and without her presence,” Osefo said. “I definitely wish her well.” Wendy Osefo added that the rest of the cast went on to do the reunion without the Grande Dame, who chose not to be a part of it due to entering a private recovery program.

Huger was featured in a pre-recorded segment at the reunion, where she took responsibility for her actions. Osefo added, “Looking at the reunion, I think that we maneuvered in a positive way as a collective, as a unit.”  She added, “I wish her the best, but I think that the Potomac brand still is strong.”

Huger’s other co-star, Ashley Darby, revealed that she “cried like a baby” after hearing about the sentencing. “I really do encourage everyone to keep Karen in your prayers,” she said. “I really care about her.”
