Wendy Williams To Get Mental Health Evaluation To End Guardianship

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 09: Wendy Williams attends The Blonds x Moulin Rouge! The Musical during New York Fashion Week:
The Shows on September 09, 2019 in New York City.

Wendy Williams is working hard to be released from her guardianship.

The former daytime TV talk show host has reportedly checked into Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City to undergo a mental health evaluation. The evaluation will determine if she is “cognitively stable” to be released from her guardianship.

Reports also state that Gina Monterroso gave the order for Williams to have the procedure done. This new development comes after it was revealed that the NYPD was currently investigating her guardianship.

Wendy Williams is currently living at an assisted living facility where reports circulated that she and her close associates were seen speaking with Adult Protective Services (APS). During the investigation, they were put in contact with Williams’s niece, Alex Finnie, on Monday, March 10.

Williams has said that she isn’t allowed to leave the facility where she was transferred to for drinking too much at the facility’s restaurant. Aside from the procedure, Williams is looking to hire lawyer Joe Tacopina, the lawyer who represented rapper A$AP Rocky in his recent assault trial, in which he was acquitted.

Wendy Williams is also set to make her first TV appearance on “The View” via the phone, on Friday, March 14th.
