Whoopi Goldberg is a great-grandmother for the second time!

During the Monday (December 8) episode of The View, the 70-year-old longtime co-host announced that she welcomed her second great-grandchild over the weekend.

“I’m going to start out today because I have some fun news from over the weekend. My family welcomed Lotus Dean to the world. She’s 6lbs., 3oz.,” she said as images of the newborn appeared on-screen.

“That’s Lotus and Ruby [the dog],” she continued. “She is, that’s her dad — my grandson, Mason.”

“He looks in love,” co-host Sunny Hostin said as Whoopi jokingly responded, “Yeah, that’ll change.”  Alyssa Farah Griffin followed with a warm “Congratulations,” while Whoopi simply took a breath and repeated what she seemed to still be processing, “It’s a wonderful thing. It’s a wonderful thing. This is my second.”

Mason, 27, is the son of Whoopi‘s only child, daughter Alex Martin, whom the Ghost actress shares with first husband Alvin Martin. Along with Mason, Alex, 51, also has two daughters – Amara, 36, and Jersey, 29 – with husband Bernard Dean.

“And congratulations to Alex, who is a grandmother again,” Ana Navarro said.

“I don’t think about that, I simply think about myself,” Whoopi added. “Cause I never thought I’d have two great-grandkids. To be there for that.”

Whoopi welcomed her first great-granddaughter, Charli Rose, in 2014. At the time, Goldberg shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, “I wasn’t your normal grandmother, and I’m not going to be your normal great-grandmother,” and made her stance on her future title clear, “She better call me Whoopi.”
