Whoopi Goldberg says that women were complicit in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse.
During an episode of The View, the panel alleged that powerful people named in the documents protected each other from being exposed.
Goldberg called out women for not speaking out about Epstein’s crimes.
“Not only did they protect each other, but we were complicit in all of this. We are complicit,” Goldberg said.
Joy Behar asked, “How?”
“I’m going to tell you how. Women didn’t say, ‘Hey, don’t do that. Don’t stand up for that.’ Women did not stand up for other women,” Goldberg argued. “And women saw what was going on and didn’t say, ‘Stop this.’ They didn’t come out and say this was going on.”
Sunny Hostin then mentionedGhislaine Maxwell, an accomplice of Epstein, who is in prison over her connection to his crimes.
“What do you mean by ‘we?” Behar asked again.
“I mean women. Listen, for years, men had the ability, men thought that it was okay to treat women this way,” Goldberg said.”We see it on television all the time. And until we stand up, until women stand up and say, never again, not anymore.”
The panelists lauded the women for fighting for justice for victims of Epstein, which included Melinda Gates, Bill Gates’ ex-wife.
“They’re standing up where other women are not, and that’s the point here. Everybody has to take some responsibility for this. Because unless you recognize what it meant, what they did to these girls, you’re not going to care,” said Goldberg. “It’s important that you recognize what’s going on here.”
On January 30, 2026, the U.S. The Department of Justice released a massive trove of over 3 million pages of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Roughly 2,000 videos and 180,000 images were included in the documents.
