Will And Jada Pinkett Smith’s Charity Set To Close After Infamous Oscars Slap

The charity that Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, created is set to close.

The news comes a few years after Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. According to reports, The Will And Jada Smith Family Foundation is set to close after the foundation stopped receiving donations from high-profile contributors.

The foundation focused on health and wellness, arts education, and sustainability. Tax records show that the foundation’s revenue dropped “from $1,760,000 in 2020, and $2,138,660 in 2021 to $365,870 in 2022,” which equates to an 83% drop from year to year.

A source close to the couple says they were beginning to “wind down” from the foundation founded in 1996 before the slap took place. In 2022, the foundation gave to other prominent organizations including the American Film Institute and Big Brothers Big Sisters. They also donated to smaller organizations such as Rebecoming and World Rebirth Foundation.

The Smith family has not commented on the recent news. What are your thoughts on this?
