Will Smith is set to take on a new role in the upcoming film, Sugar Bandits.
According to reports, Smith will play the role of an Iraq war veteran who joins other vets to help take down a drug trade in Boston. The film is based on the book Devils in Exile written by Chuck Hogan. It was originally announced in 2013 and that it was going to be developed by Universal.
The 55 year-old actor and Jon Mone are set to financially back the film. This is Smith’s second major film since starring in Antoine Fuqua’s film Emancipation in 2022. Smith is also working on the Bad Boys film and the sequel to I Am Legend that will also star Michael B. Jordan.
