Yvonne Orji has secured a major deal with Sony Pictures Television.

The actress recently signed a two-year deal to develop a scripted drama and comedy series for cable and streaming services. Lauren Stein, EVP of Drama Development for Sony Studios said, “Yvonne is incredibly talented, vibrant, and authentic, and we are thrilled to announce this new deal with her.”

She continued, “She has this gravitational pull and unique perspective, and we are excited to start exploring the types of stories she wants to tell.” Orji went on Instagram to post and celebrate her new deal.

“Quietly cookin… but always eating,” the Insecure alum wrote in the caption, “I’m thrilled to be partnering with @sptv to create content we can see ourselves in. When I laid out my vision for shows that connect across the Diaspora, the excitement I was met with, let me know this was the right home for me in this season.”

She added, “Shout out to the entire Sony executive team that made the deal happen as well as my hittas @dcwade1, UTA, Del Shaw, & Shelter. Let’s get this work baby!!”

Congratulations to Yvonne Orji. Who else is excited about her new deal?
