Airbnb Host Tied Up And Robbed By Man Renting The Basement

This had to be a scary ordeal for this Airbnb host. 

Reports state that a man in Georgia is wanted for tying up and robbing the host of an Airbnb while he was renting out the basement. The Gwinnett County Police said that they are looking for the 26-year-old suspect, Khalil Hamilton.

The incident happened on September 26, where he allegedly sent a text to the victim/ host saying that the bathroom needed a repair. “While the victim was assessing the maintenance complaint by Khalil, he brandished a black handgun and demanded the victim lie on the floor.” a rep for the police said on Facebook. “Khalil zip-tied the victim and stole the victim’s wallet and watch before fleeing the residence.” 

The homeowner stated that his wife and child were also in the home during the robbery but they were unharmed. As of now, Gwinnett County Police do not have any new information regarding the case. 

However, the suspect was seen in the area in an older Honda with Texas license plates. It has also been stated that Khalil has active warrants for armed robbery, false imprisonment, and more.
