In celebration of Grammy Week, The Jennifer Hudson Show invited numerous recording artists to visit her show and perform.

Anthony Hamilton stopped by the show on Tuesday (Jan 30) to talk about his upbringing, family and career.

The “Hamilton Cornerstore” founder updated Hudson on his six sons, including how one of his 13-year-old twins has “perfect pitch.” The singers reminisced about being raised singing in the church. When Hudson asked Hamilton about growing up singing in the church, he shared how his grandmother gave him no choice.

He also shared how his hit song “Charlene” is his favorite since it got him “the most groceries.” He added that “Comin’ From Where I’m From” is another fave from his debut album of the same name. Hudson jumped from his first album to his most recent, 2021’s Love Is The New Black, and asked Anthony if they could sing their cover of Luther Vandross’ version of “Superstar” from the album together and he was too happy to say yes.

After walking over to the piano, Hamilton and Hudson have a musical moment singing the duet version of “Superstar."

The day before, Charlie Wilson stopped the show and performed a medley of ‘Superman’ and ‘Outstanding’.
