Anthony Mackie is set to break new ground in his hometown of New Orleans. The actor will reportedly build a new movie studio there.
Mackie has purchased 20 acres of land in New Orleans East, a close source to the movie star confirmed. In a statement released through his agent, the Marvel star called the move “premature to discuss the specifics of his plan for the site.”
However, according to multiple reports, Mackie has plans to put East Studios, LLC, his own production company on the land. He also has plans to purchase more land in the near future.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell also tweeted about Mackie’s recent purchase. She said, “The New Orleans East is making a comeback, bam. New Orleans’s own Anthony Mackie is opening a HUGE 20-acre film studio! This is INCREDIBLE!! The influx of productions will not only bring economic growth but job opportunities!”
