According to reports, Bill Cosby has settled a lawsuit with seven other women who accused him of defamation. The women went public with sexual assault allegations in 2014.

The women claimed Cosby defamed them by accusing them of lying about the sexual assault allegations. Cosby is currently serving 3-10 years in prison for another sexual assault case.

The judge who is supervising the defamation case still has to approve the settlement, which will be left confidential. At this time, it is uncertain if Cosby will drop the counterclaims against the seven women. Cosby filed a counterclaim alleging that they “defamed his character and intentionally derailed an upcoming television opportunity,” according to reports.

According to attorney Joseph Cammarata, “each plaintiff is satisfied with the settlement.” He also states that his clients would not be happy if Cosby did not drop his counterclaims.

A statement posted to Cosby’s Instagram/Twitter pages states that the settlement was done without his “knowledge or permission”
