Bishop Lamor Whitehead Speaks Out After Altercation With Churchgoer Leads To His Arrest

A video has gone viral showing Brooklyn Bishop Lamor Whitehead getting into a physical altercation with one of the churchgoers.

According to reports, the woman involved was 47-year-old Tarsha Howard, and she was charged with trespassing and disrupting a religious service. In the video, she was approached by Bishop Whitehead during their Livestream service.

In speaking about the incident, Whitehead said that he was released by police after they investigated what happened and also expressed that he was upset about how he was treated by the police.

“They locked me up in front of my children, in front of my wife, in front of my church. They publicly embarrassed me and then they dropped all the charges after two hours and apologized,” he said.

Reports also say that the incident happened after two women entered the church as the Bishop was finishing up his sermon and sat in the back of the church. In the video, he can be heard asking them, “You want to come preach? Come on up here. I’m gonna make you famous.”

The video goes on to show one of the women walking to the front of the church, “She came in the middle aisle and just started cussing me out, calling me all types of names, calling me all types of things,” he said. “She came back storming toward my wife and my 10-month-old baby. She went toward my wife and that’s when I grabbed her. I grabbed her and took her out of my church. All I could remember was the guys with the guns who put their gun in my baby’s face.”

Bishop Whitehead grabbed the woman by the back of her neck and can be heard yelling grab her. Tarsha Howard is currently waiting to be arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
