The King of Pop may no longer be with us, but his music and legacy will continue to live on.
According to the NY Times, a Michael Jackson Broadway musical in the works! The show is called “MJ The Musical.”
It will feature an artistic breakdown of his career and will highlight his achievements. The musical will portray his life through his 20’s and 30’s.
It’s being produced by the Michael Jackson Estate and Columbia Live Stage. Christopher Wheeldon will be directing and choreographing it. The article also reports that it will feature a book by Lynn Nottage, a playwright who has won two Pulitzer Prizes, for “Ruined” and “Sweat.”
The show is being directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, a Tony winner for “An American in Paris.”
The musical is set to premiere on August 13th, 2020 at the Neil Simon Theatre in NYC, according to a report. Fans can get a preview of the upcoming performances on July 6th, 2020.
