This is really amazing. Chris Rock is set to make history with Netflix by becoming the first comedian to perform live on the streaming platform.
The announcement was made by Netflix via a press release and revealed that the special will premiere next year. “Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation,” Netflix’s vice president of stand-up and comedy formats, Robbie Praw said.
He continued, “We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”
Chris Rock’s last special for Netflix was pre-recorded in 2018, however, this special will become Rock’s seventh special with five of them being recorded for HBO.
