Porsha Williams and Simon Goubadia tied the knot over the Thanksgiving holiday. The love birds had a traditional Nigerian wedding and an American one.
As reported on The Jasmine Brand, the 41-year-old reality star was dressed in a beautiful traditional Nigerian outfit for their November 25 wedding. They wanted to honor Simon’s culture with the ceremony. 250 guests reportedly attended.
Ahead of the wedding, Simon, 57, said he was happy Porsha embraced his culture. He said, “To embrace my culture and want to be married in that fashion is something that blows my mind. I think some of the folks we brought on to help us go through the whole ceremony and that whole process were surprised that she knew so much already about the outfits, the clothing, the names and all of that. She’s immersed herself in the culture, I’d say in the last year.”
The married couple tied the knot again in Atlanta for an “American” version the following day. 350 guests attended, including some of the casts from the Real Housewives Of Atlanta, such as Kandi Burruss, Drew Sidora, Cynthia Bailey, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, and more.
TJB points out that Porsha carefully selected her guests. She said:
“It’s important for me because I’ve had another big event in my life before, and all I remember seeing was flashing lights and pictures being taken every single minute. I just really want people to be in the moment. This guest list, everyone there was handpicked by the both of us. These are people that we care about, these are people that we love, people who have supported us, and we really want them there to feel their energy and for us to celebrate our love together.”
