DJ Cassidy Announces His Next ‘Pass The Mic’ Will Be His Last

It looks like all good things must come to an end, especially in DJ Cassidy’s case. The beloved creator of Pass The Mic announced that the grand finale of the hit music series will air on October 4th after the BET Hip-Hop Awards. 

Cassidy took to his social media to post a video of what fans can expect with the caption that read, “I’m passing the mic to Method Man and 19 other Hip-Hop Icon, tomorrow night at 11:30 pm EST on BET for the Grand Finale of “Pass The Mic.” This celebration of Hip-Hop will go down in history!” 

This finale is set to feature multiple iconic hip-hop artists including Remy Ma, Ice Cube, Jadakiss, Swizz Beatz, Styles, Too $hort, Warren G, Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, and so much more. 

Throughout the course of this series, Pass The Mic had ten episodes, over 200 icons, and 100 hits fans know and love. In a recent interview, he spoke about his creation and how it unified millions of people. 

“When I created “Pass The Mic” in July 2020 I sought to celebrate our everyday heroes by uniting my musical heroes in the greatest singalong of all time,” he said.

“Millions of people around the globe have now united around the most iconic artists and songs of all time to pass the mic in unison. I am so honored to be celebrating my Hip Hop heroes in this final edition of the series.” 

Past artists who have been featured on Pass The Mic include Maxi Priest, Hall & Oates, SWV, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Missy Elliott, Nelly, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, and more.
