DMX, real name Earl Simmons, has checked himself into rehab.
Earlier this week, the 48-year-old rapper shared on his social media account that he was seeking in-patient care in order to maintain his sobriety. The caption reads:
“In his ongoing commitment to putting family and sobriety first, DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility. He apologizes for his canceled shows and thanks to his fans for their continued support.”
DMX has had a long battle with drug addiction and in order to prevent the temptation of drug use again, he “checked in preemptively.”
